I spent all day long for the latest jibjib beta. In case you didn't follow @sugree, I have been extending jibjib to support camera phone and TwitPic. Now it is mostly usable and seems to be stable enough. This is the right time to be beta tester. Note that it is not stable version. You are warned.

I only tested this beta version in SonyEricssons W810i and it is the only one I have in stock. There are a few things you should know about this version.

  1. You are able to choose picture size in setup screen. Note that you should choose encoding jpeg with any widths and any heights.
  2. If you want to see the picture fullscreen, you may check the checkbox on the bottom of setup screen.
  3. You may use "OK" button to capture a picture but it might not work well because of this button has no standard value and name.
  4. The state of picture stored in update screen is not fully tested so if you get some problems, please report the steps to reproduce the problem.
  5. Don't forget that larger picture means bigger image sizes, more bandwidth and also more GPRS charges.
  6. You have to set gateway to Birdnest onedd.

  7. If you don't want to see video during capture, you may toggle visible/hide menu.

  8. I cannot hear any sound during capture picture. Don't use jibjib to take any taboo shot silently!
  9. Captured pictures are not saved locally. It should be pretty safe if you accidentally did above taboo.

Sample results are available at my TwitPic profile.

Tested with K750i. When select 'snapshot' from menu, nothing happens.

  1. Go to About screen to make sure you have MMAPI.
  2. Please try to open Setup screen and choose a proper snapshot encoding, save and try again.

This is such a kind of Java.

Write once and run only there

Your phone and my phone should be very similar and very compatible. I have no idea. My java skill is not good enough. It seems jibjib only ran on my phone.

I don't do it silently. I publish it to twitpic.
