It's December 26, 2007. Only one month left to BarCamp Bangkok for all of us but there is no exact venue to hold this wonderful event yet. Fortunately, we have sajal, our hero. He suggested a new candidate venue to hold BarCamp Bangkok. This place is free of charge because it is actually a restaurant. Moreover, we may have a party after BarCamp here, no need to move around Bangkok. At last, it is Indus Restaurant.

Please take a look at Indus gallery. It looks nice, comfortable and great for BarCamp. If it is not enough, watch this video. In addition, this restaurant has a projector and 2 big plasma monitors! We just need to find one more projector for 4 parallel sessions. Great! And the greatest ever is that Indus has built-in free wi-fi!

Anyway, we do not make any decision yet.

(12:21:26 PM) sugree: @sajal i'm thinking about indusbangkok
(12:22:09 PM) sajal: ok... do u wanna contact the owner direct? or check out the place first.
(12:22:41 PM) sugree: have you ever been there?
(12:23:04 PM) sajal: i think 3 diferent rooms would be there ... they have one more party room upstairs, but im not sure they will give the entire location or not.
(12:23:06 PM) sajal: many times
(12:23:47 PM) sugree: it opens daytime and nighttime?
(12:23:54 PM) sajal: the main dining room can do 2 presentations i think.
(12:24:11 PM) sugree: ok, so we have at least 2 corners ready
(12:24:11 PM) sajal: it is open in the day,but i dont think they get any business for lunch
(12:24:32 PM) sugree: we need 2 more
(12:24:46 PM) sajal: u have bar + cafe + dining room(2 corners) = 4 total
(12:25:41 PM) sajal: also at the entrance there is a desk and a sofa. that can be registration area,
(12:26:06 PM) sugree: bar has a wall for projector?
(12:26:21 PM) sugree: cafe should have a wall, i guess
(12:27:34 PM) sajal: cafe and bar im not very sure. but they have wide screen LCD in both the spaces.
(12:29:08 PM) sajal: the dining room has wall i think.
(12:29:44 PM) sugree: ah, cool! big lcd should be fine
(12:29:52 PM) sugree: so i need to find 2 projectors
(12:30:34 PM) sugree: do you know the exact open time?
(12:31:25 PM) sajal: nopes... but he asked me whats the required timing... i told him 10am to 6pm ... they say no problems
(12:33:40 PM) sugree: we will have dinner party after barcam too
(12:33:58 PM) sugree: is it possible to have a party there?
(12:34:03 PM) sugree: until 9pm something
(12:34:15 PM) sajal: yeah... u can book their bar after that.
(12:34:34 PM) sajal: of the restaurant is open untill 10 or 11pm or maybe even later
(12:34:55 PM) sugree: sound great! no need to walk
(12:34:55 PM) sajal: http://link.brightcove.com/services/player/bcpid1274025802?bclid=933742903&bctid=1155106868 check the video
(12:41:54 PM) luke_bkk left the room (quit: Read error: 110 (Connection timed out)).
(12:43:25 PM) sajal: the owner just called me for an unrelated matter.. i spoke to him about projector.
(12:44:01 PM) sajal: the bar has one projector + 1 LCD already, cafe has 1 LCD and for the dining room u can bring your own projectors
(12:44:20 PM) sugree: wow! cool! it's perfect
(01:17:19 PM) luke_bkk [n=luke_bkk@p4076-adslbkkct1.C.csloxinfo.net] entered the room.
(01:32:57 PM) sugree: @sajal are you still there?
(01:33:10 PM) sugree: one last question. do they have wifi?
(01:35:51 PM) sajal: yeah
(01:36:04 PM) sajal: free wifi
(01:36:09 PM) sugree: have wifi? oh god. great restaurant
(01:36:22 PM) sajal: but i have no idea if their bandwidth it will support so many geeks
(01:36:52 PM) sajal: it is one of the expensive indian restaurants and last year it got best restaurant award
(01:37:33 PM) sajal: http://www.thaindian.com/about-thailand/indus-adjudged-the-best-indian-restaurant-for-2006.html
(01:40:01 PM) sugree: ah, cool.
