Yesterday we had the first planning meeting at True Coffee, Siam Paragon around 1pm-4pm. @jfxberns summarized the meeting in mailing list already. I just want to repeat it again here out loud.

BarCamp Bangkok 2 is 2-day event both on Saturday August 30, 2008 and Sunday August 31, 2008.

Please help me spread the word regarding this big change.

To save your time, below is the summary by @jfxberns.

The last thing we did is to look at the space at Chula--but I must say, it looks awesome! If anybody has some photos, please post links to them here!

W all agreed that since we have budget and facilities we should try to do a 2 day Barcamp: Sessions Saturday from 10am - 6pm, some party for participants to get to socialize and feel more comfortable around each other, more like friends, then more sessions on Sunday from 10am - 6pm. The idea is that once people see other people present and then can drink a beer with them--on Day 2 we will have more people participating.

We might try some new things on Sunday like key signing sessions, coding workshops, etc.

Jemmy will help to find a place close to Chula that can hold around 200 people for an after-barcamp party.

Jann will help to create some maps from Google Maps that will be put on the website and handle direction signs for people to find Engineering building.

We will print about 3 more large banners and 5 sponsor banners to go underneath. In his absence, Luke was appointed this duty. ;-)

There is no wireless networking at the facilities--but we have wired Ethernet. Sugree will try to get Kapook to provide the wireless access points and set up the networking. Does anybody else know any company that can provide wifi for the day?

Arthit and Sajal will put together a Media Kit about barcamp and try to get them to cover the event.

Neung has volunteered to do the registration again.

We have the rooms available from 08:00 to 20:00 each day.

It looks like we DO NOT have the large auditorium available to us for registration on Saturday OR Sunday. Not only that, it means there will be another large event going on in the same building. Aruj is trying to find out what the event will be and if it will prevent us from using the space downstairs for registration or hanging out.

Distribution of T-shirts. We will hand out tickets for T-shirts at registration. Then people can go to another table to pick up their T- shirt.

We will need somebody to be the room manager manager. We need one person that can organize people to sit in on every session in every room so they can help presenters set up laptop on projection monitor, time their session and tell them when the end is coming and get them off the stage at the end time so the next person can set up. Any volunteers?

If you read above summary carefully, you should notice that we need your help. We need more volunteers. This could be the biggest BarCamp ever. Don't miss it!
