Call for Donation: APC 2008 needs your support

APC 2008 is a hardcore programming contest in Thailand organized by a few students to warm up for full-scale contests, e.g., Google Code Jam, Computer Olympic and etc. In my opinion, this is such a cool contest. Sadly, they do not have budget or funding even just for prize for the winner.

markpeak initiated contact with the organizers to propose some helps and let me be contact point locally. I proposed them to help find funding to make 50 t-shirts for the top 50 of competitors (now there are 191 applicants). Roughly it costs about 9,000 THB or 300 USD. I cannot support them for this big amount (for me). So the idea is to ask for some donation from all you there.

Please help them no matter how much you can 50 THB or 1 USD is ok. All donations can be tracked at ChipIn so do not worry your money will be disappeared by any circumstances. This is not my ChipIn. My PayPal account is ... The fact is I have never used PayPal. Anyway, we need to launch this ChipIn quickly so I ask keng to create this ChipIn.

You can also help promote this ChipIn by adding below code in your blog.

I am glad to hear that. For this big amount support and prizes, I recommend to contact the organizers directly. I will ask them to call you tomorrow after 2pm by that number.

Anyway, they have to consider how to use your sponsorship since now we got $351 of $375 already. Please talk about this in detail tomorrow with organizers.

Thank you very much.
