After came back from Penang for PRAGMA, I roughly calculated the cost of my GPRS international roaming at Penang via jibjib. The statistics collected by my phone were as follows.

  • Sent: 100,426 bytes
  • Received: 155,471 bytes
  • Time: 2:19:27 in 6 days

Today I have just received the bill.

During that 6 days, I connected to EDGE/GPRS 186 times. Most of them are Maxis, only 2 connected to DiGi. The bill does tell me exact data transfer in bytes, instead, it is in KB. The costing is very interesting.

  • Maxis 1 KB costs around 0.13-0.23 THB
  • DiGi 1 KB costs around 0.53-0.68 THB

Lucky! In short, True Move told me below statistics.

  • Connection: 186 times
  • Data Transfer: 263 KB
  • Cost: 47.59 THB

Note that in Penang, I sent an SMS back to Bangkok and it costs me 9 THB. I will never send SMS again.

jibjib rocks!
