Google Summer of Code 2008 for students has just begun since yesterday. Now it is the time for students to submit applications and proposals. Do you have any idea in mind? No? Don't worry. You may find some idea fit your experiences at idea list page of each project. For example, Drupal has official ideas list which already approved by community members and mentors to make sure that its relevant and its scope are all acceptable. If answer is yes, you still need to propose your idea to Drupal community to verify your idea at SoC 2008 Group. After your idea is considered to be a good enough project for this summer, it will be added to the official ideas list.

If you read above paragraph carefully, you will find out that you don't need to propose your own idea. But if your idea is cool enough, don't hesitate to propose!

When you choose the idea for this summer, the next step is to write a good proposal since there might be so many students who choose same idea. Just like I mentioned earlier, faster is better. Submitting early to get score early and also get more time to revise.

Hurry up!
