And the time has come again. Ubuntu 9.10 Karmic Koala beta was released yesterday. I cannot download beta in DVD format because its slowness. All I got last night was daily alternate CD. That is enough for me.
The fresh install went so smooth. Everything works fine. Skype rocks. Webcam works. Sound is sweet. After installation, I just rsync home from old laptop and done.
My laptop is ThinkPad R52 running Ubuntu Jaunty. The Skype has been installed from medibuntu repository, 184.108.40.206-0medibuntu4. It was really bad to use Skype. CPU utlization was always 100% during call. The problem should be kernel or alsa driver due to mishandling input/output buffer to sound card. The pain is over today after I found solution.
